From the Winemaker's Desk: Spring 2024 Wine Society Release
Spring has sprung, and with it comes a selection of wines that's as diverse as it is exceptional. Buckle up for a journey through time and taste with our latest club release—I promise you won't be disappointed.
First up, let's talk about Orange wine. Now, don't let the name fool you; there's not an orange in sight. L’Ambre is a nod to ancient winemaking techniques, crafted from Frontenac Gris grapes in Hamilton, Indiana. Aged in mead-finished Tokaji barrels, it's a bold departure from the norm, offering a unique flavor profile that's bound to leave a lasting impression. Pair it with roasted chicken or grilled seafood for an unforgettable dining experience.
Next on the agenda, we have our off-dry Rosé, made from Malbec grapes. With its fruity notes and touch of sweetness, it's the perfect companion for those warm spring days, pairing effortlessly with a variety of dishes. Try it with a summer salad or a charcuterie board for a delightful culinary adventure.
Moving on to our Sauvignon Blanc, a departure from tradition with its crisp grapefruit aromatics reminiscent of New Zealand's finest. It's a refreshing option that pairs beautifully with seafood or simply enjoyed on its own. Serve it alongside grilled shrimp or a citrusy ceviche for a match made in heaven.
Now, let's take a moment to appreciate our barrel-aged Touriga Nacional—Tonneau Choisi. A true labor of love, this wine has been aged to perfection, revealing layers of complexity and depth with each sip. Indulge in a glass alongside a hearty beef stew or a rich, creamy pasta dish for a truly decadent experience.
Introducing our latest addition: Tempranillo. Straight from the vineyards of Clarksburg, this Spanish varietal brings centuries of winemaking tradition to your glass, offering a rich tapestry of flavors that are sure to impress. Pair it with grilled lamb chops or a spicy chorizo dish for a taste of the Mediterranean right at home.
Of course, no lineup would be complete without a classic like our 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon. Bold, robust, and utterly delicious, it's a testament to the timeless appeal of this revered varietal. Enjoy it alongside a juicy steak or a hearty mushroom risotto for a meal that's sure to please even the most discerning palate.
Last but certainly not least, we have a special treat for our club members: Bourbon Barrel Aged Tannat. A limited-release gem that's been aging gracefully, it's a true testament to the artistry of winemaking. Pair it with a hearty beef stew or a decadent chocolate dessert for an unforgettable dining experience.
So there you have it—a lineup that's as diverse as it is exceptional. Here's to new discoveries and unforgettable experiences. Cheers!
